Laundry for Royalty

(This image does not do them justice. It is a little hard to take a good photo in my little tiny laundry room. I had to do some pretty extensive gymnastic moves just to get this one.)

As several of you know, I got a new washer and dryer this week. They are wonderful. They are both front load and energy efficient. I am, however, a little embarrassed by how gaudy they are. Maytag truly went out of their way on this set to make you feel as though you were on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (note the crests on the doors) or working as a chamber maid and laundress for people who think gold-leafing the entire interior of their home is not tacky.
While I would rather be on a cruise ship (as a guest, not a maid) I am happy with my ultra quiet and efficient new appliances.

  1. I was listening to my wash machine spin out of control, and I thought of your post. I am a little jealous, not of the gold trim but of the quiet sound you said it makes. When our wash machine is spinning our house shacks. I would like the shacking to stop, and having a machine that was quiet would be the cherry of top! So congratulations on my new machines, they are beautiful! Someday soon, I also hope to have a new washer and dyer, and if they match, woo hoo!
