Day one of my own personal fit club did not go so well. I was doing great. I started my day with yoga and a light breakfast. Even by lunchtime I was still going strong. I didn't drink a drop of soda all day, opting for herb tea and water instead.
It all went downhill when the kids came home and brought their Easter baskets out. I caved. I ate chocolate eggs and malted milk balls and other sugar-laden goodness.
I felt terrible all night long. I have no will-power. What is wrong with me. I need a pill that simulates the gross and yucky stomach feeling I get when I eat sugar. Then I could take it whenever I was tempted and I would not even want to look at it.
Whatever, today is a new day.
We sent our daughters on a scavenger hunt today. They are a little old for Easter egg hunts so we compiled a list of things we wanted them to find and sent them off with our iPhones to take pictures of each thing.
Just to clarify: We did actually color the eggs (you're never too old for that) but we only plan on eating them, not finding them — because we know they are in our fridge.
They are now completely enamored with the idea. I am going to have to sit down and search the Internet for other common scavenger hunts I can print out.
It was fun to see them work together with little name calling. (There was some name calling. I am pretty certain I heard dumbie and stupid head at least once.)
Here are two of Mo's pictures:
In the spirit of Easter I wanted to include a tribute to the holiday candy we all love — Peeps (which I must now refrain from since I threw them up when I was pregnant with Maggie and have never been able to eat them again):
Check out this cake. It was featured on Cake Wrecks, one of my favorite blogs:
I really need to find where I can buy this poster:
I might risk the multicolored puking to eat this yummy s'more:
And my favorite of all — Jesus. Who can deny that this is fitting considering what holiday Peeps are sold during:
