Sid is back!!! He showed up at our doorstep, meowing like the sky was falling down, at around 6 a.m. today. He was clean, looked very well-fed and talkative. He did not let up on the chatter until around 9 a.m. He seems happy to be home and hasn't left my side all day.
I think he may have been temporarily catnapped, but he is back now.
My kids and I are so happy he is back. Thank you for all your words of encouragement.
Yesterday when the kids and I were discussing what to do to try and find Sid. I suggested we report it to the Humane Society. Maggie, who has watched much too much TV since we got satellite, said, 'We have to wait 48 hours before we report him, otherwise they won't do anything.' I love that kid!!!
Our cat has gone missing today. I am feeling terrible about it. I let him out this morning and he wasn't around when we left for church. When we got home — no cat. It has been about 10 hours without him and it is sad. Moira has already had one break down and with Jon gone to his brother's for a birthday/football party, I have to be the comforter. It just makes me feel worse.
The cat has a collar with a tag, so if someone found him they shouldn't have a problem contacting us. That is unless they have no phone, no access to a phone, do not own a map or are completely inept at addresses and directions.
Cross your fingers and turn around three times while clicking your heels together. If enough of us do that maybe he will return. Either that, or there will be a lot of people feeling dizzy and looking stupid.
