Artsy-Fartsy
These blown glass jelly fish are on display at one of the galleries downtown. I think they are so beautiful I had to add them to this post.
Well, we did some fun stuff this weekend that Jon sometimes calls Artsy-Fartsy. Funny coming from him, our resident artist isn't it? There is an organization in town called Art on the Edge that puts together art projects and workshops designed to help kids who are in trouble, who don't have a lot of time to be themselves etc... They had a fundraiser this weekend where the kids got to go and participate in some art projects and just have fun.
Using a pottery wheel to make a bowl.
Okay, so it wasn't all art. Kyle got to shoot a marshmallow gun to knock down cans.
Maggie got to play a violin. (Very well I might add)
Moira helped to paint a huge canvas painting of a Mardi Gras celebration.

I know that all my comments are "oh, I love this" and "ooooh, I really love that," but forget all of them. I really absolutely LOVE those glass jellyfish. That is incredible! Sometimes the lack of variety in my life is painfully clear... like now. There's just no way something like that would exist on this island.
ReplyDeleteAnd, why does Kyle look all grown up in that picture? Tell him to knock it off! He's not allowed to turn into a teenager yet.
